Durability

Heavy Glide is a tripod made entirely of chrome-plated stainless steel, designed for durability and strength for years to come. All the clamps and their knobs, the leg link, the center column break mechanism and the caster suspension are metal.

Stability

Heavy Glide is a heavy tripod weighing almost 20 kg with heavy gauge steel tubing. Its legs are made of 25 x 25 mm closed sections, which in combination with the casters give a base span of 144 cm. This in combination with the steel connectors and clamps makes Heavy Glide a very stable tripod. 

Load capacity

The center column can hold up to 30 kg. It can support up to 30 kg, which makes it easy to use even with the largest softboxes and umbrellas. If you need to illuminate a photo set from above, using a lamp with a softbox of 120 cm diameter (or larger), GlareOne Heavy Glide will be the best choice. 

Boom

Heavy Glide is equipped with a central column breaking mechanism which makes it a 2 in 1 tripod. When the central column is working vertically it reaches the maximum height of 530 cm. When the central column is working vertically it has a maximum height of 530 cm. This kind of tripod should be in every photo and film studio because it allows you to safely place the lamp over the set for overhead lighting. A crane is also useful when the lamp needs to be hung above the camera or camcorder, which can be awkward or even impossible with a regular tripod.

Mountain leg

The length of one of the legs can be adjusted, which makes it possible to set it up in places where ordinary tripods would not be able to stand safely. The mechanism of the "mountain leg" makes it easy to place the Heavy Glide on sloping ground and level it properly, which is very good for safety on the set.

Head

Heavy Glide is topped with a sturdy head equipped with a 29 mm Junior socket and a 16 mm stylus for direct lamp mounting. The mandrel can be hidden inside the head or mounted perpendicular and parallel to its axis. To prevent the lamp mounted on the crane from rotating during operation, the stem is grooved. The head is equipped with a place for attaching lashings, which are used for stabilization during work at high heights, setting up on uneven ground or stabilization during gusts of wind in the open air.

Details 

Almost all of the connections on this tripod are made with screws and not rivets that are usually used on cheaper tripods. The Heavy Glide comes with a set of wrenches that are needed to attach the wheels and tighten the screws if necessary. The tilt mechanism of the arm is equipped with a large handle that guarantees a firm grip, so important for safe work. The other end of the arm is provided with a loop for hanging the counterweight. The casters have a large diameter (10 mm) and are equipped with brakes. All sections of the tripod are cushioned by springs.
